THere hasn't been much action recently (Jasmine and Matilda both played in one week but both lost in R1; Matilda lost again in R1 this week)

However, in Tunisia, Kristina P (aged 17) came through qualis and then got her first MD win.

R1: PASKAUSKAS, Kristina (GBR) Q UNR/1250 def MARANDEL, Lola (FRA) WC 1450/850 6-2 6-0

She also got her first MD doubles win at the end of March too, playing with a Korean girl.

Week 15: Matilda won one round at a 25k in France, before losing in three.

Jasmine came through qualis nicely before getting knocked out in R1 in the UK 25k

Talia had a wildcard into the MD but also lost in R1 (although 5-7 5-7 to the woman who's made the final)

Ranah has a wildcard too but lost to Jodie as top seed.

Kristina P lost in the FQR in a 15k

Will Jansen, Louis Bowden and Luca Pow had wildcards into the MD of UK 25 but lost

Fabio Nestola did better, in that he came through qualis, and beat Ben Jones (about 1100) along the way

Yujiro Onuma also got a win over a ranked player in the QR1

Louis Bowden got a win in R1 doubles too

In terms of rankings, we are now:

WTA:

422 - Matilda Mut. ('04)
825 - Talia Neilson Gatenby ('05)
845 - Jasmine Conway ('04)

We have 6 junior girls ranked in doubles, all outside the top 1000, namely: Tabitha Holmes, Andra Sutherland, Matilda, Paulina Jurkowska, Jess Matthews and Hannah Smith

We welcome Louis Bowden ('04) to the doubles ATP rankings ! New in, thanks to his win last week

Week 18 2022:

The BIG news this week is that wildcard Mimi Xu ('07), age 14, won her R1 match in the 25k in Nottingham, and so gets a singles ranking point.

(The caveat is that she did so by beating Lois Newberry, also born 2007, also a wildcard, so - with the best will in the world - it's not quite such a headline event, but all the same)

Matilda has also won her R1 match at the 25K+H event in Spain

(Plenty of other juniors played in the UK too but lost their matches)

In the boys, Louis Bowden ('04) got two wins to make it through qualis in Nottingham before losing in R1

(ADD: Both Mimi and Matilda lost in R2)

Mimi gets 5 points for a 25K R1 win. That will now give her 11 points in total and a WTA ranking!

Mingge's bithday is in October. There are 2 other 14 year olds with a raking but both are born in July so she would be the youngest.

Week 19:

The big news this week was the Kristina Paskauskas (age 17), unranked, has won the ITF 15k doubles title in Tunisia

(She also won her R1 singles match which - I think - should be her third counter for a ranking in a week's time)

Excellent week - lovey to get a title (with her 18 year-old Chinese partner, Sijia Wei

Elsewhere, lots of girls turned out in Nottingham for the 25 but no wins. Matilda Mut. also lost in her first match in the 60k in France.

In the boys in Notts, Will Jansen got a R1 win though - which will give a welcome ATP ranking

Yujiro Onuma also got two wins in qualis, making the main draw.

Phoenix Weir also got a win.
