Matilda Mutavdzic, age 16, born 2004, now has a WTA singles ranking of 1028, with 3 tournaments played, and 12 points (all from that Spanish 15k title).

That means GB now has two juniors with adult rankings in singles (her and Emma Raducanu, born 2002, WTA 344).

(In doubles, Millie Bisset (born 2003) and Holly Staff (2002) have rankings of 1221 and 1447, respectively)

Matilda actually has counted in all 3 events that she has played. Won her R1 in her first two 15Ks and then that title, which is worth 10 points, though used to be 12 points.

ADD: just looked it up and I think that Jasmine gets 1 ITF point for making the final Q round of a 15k

Just to note that 2004-born Jasmine Conway now has an adult ITF ranking, ITF 2022 to be exact.

Which makes her our second 2004-er to get an adult ITF ranking (after Matilda Mut)

To note, last week Jasmine won two quali round matches, including a player with a CH of WTA 690 or so

And this week, having won an easy QR1, Jasmine has now just beaten the WTA 808 player, in QR2

In Sharm, in the battle of the Jas(z)min(e)s, our Jasmine Conway, born 2004, has now just taken out Jazmin Oretnzi (ARG) WTA 692 !!!

Jasmine Conway (2004) qualified for the main draw in Sharm, but lost in R1 to another very talented youngster, Timofeeva.

But a good week for her.

Week 44: Wins in round one of 15k qualis for three of our 2002-ers today: Max Basing in Greece, Felix Gill in Portugal and Marni Banks in Egypt

Week 44: Unfortunately, all three 2002-ers above failed to qualify to the main draw of their respective 15k events.

Wildcard Ali Habib also lost in R1 in Egypt, though ran the top 500 player very close, losing 4-6 6-7(7)

However, Arthur Féry, also 2002, won his R1 match in Portugal.

ADD: He lost in R2, but with a decent score of 4&4, against Escoffier, ranked 388

Week 46:

Jasmine Conway (born 2004) is the highlight of the week.
Having won two matches in qualifying, she then won her R1 and R2 matches in the main draw (and still going)

Her wins this week have been as follows:

WR UNR
WR 1152
WR 1080
WR 720

Felix Gill (2002) was a MD entry in Spain using his JR and put up a very good show, losing in three tight sets to a Frenchman ranked ATP 456

Add: Jasmine lost her QF match, but with a very decent showing, in three sets against Lulu Sun who went on to make the finals

Week 47:

A shout-out to two of your 14 year-olds ! :

Firstly, Hannah Read, born 2006, who has just beaten a top-1000 player in the qualis in Spain.

A very promising youngster, a lovely game of tennis, very Katie-Boulter-esque.

And also to Hannah Rylatt, also born 2006, who also won her QR1 match in the same Spanish 15k

She was off to join the Stirling Academy in September, well done to her. (I think Hannah Read is up there too, as well as Hephzibah, and Ella)

Really good to see our youngsters having a go - it's a great learning experience.

Week 47:

It continues to be a busy week for our youngsters in adult events.

After the first adult ITF points for the two Hannahs above (which might come in useful one day, who knows......), it's now the time for the MD contenders.

Matilda Mut (born 2004) failed to get past her R1 opponent in Egypt, which might be considered disappointing but losing 4-6 5-7 to a player ranked about 700 is very respectable (and the fact that Matilda was such a clear favourite with the bookies was ridiculous)

Arthur Fery (2002) has won his R1 match and was looking good on livestream.

BUT pride of place so far goes to young Felix Gill (also 2002) who took out Trungelliti (ARG) WR 253, the top seed, in two sets !! biggrin biggrin biggrin

ADD: Unfortunately, there were no subesquent wins for our two lads but both put up decent scores.
