Juniors playing professional senior tennis

Jack is the last junior standing, winning his SF (although by an early retirement).

Emma went out in the SFs in Roehampton in 2 sets.

Arthur lost yesterday in the QFs but gets some nice points to start off his pro-ranking career.

A little mention of Sonay Kartal and Esther Adeshina (both born 2001), too, who made the SFs of the doubles in Roehampton and should get a doubles WTA ranking.

And the week ends with another 25k title for Jack Draper, still 17.

Week 41 is dominated by Jack Draper, born 2001, age 17, who made the QFs in the Challenger in Fairfield, beating Jack Sock and Donald Young along the way.

A great achievement.

*For foreign players, Jannick Sinner, the much heralded Italian 2001-born player, made the SFs in the French challenger, losing his SF 7-6(6) in the third.
Zeppieri, one of Italy's many other promising youngsters in their stable, born 2001, won a 25k title.
Spain's Carlos GIMENO VALERO, born 2001, is also into the final of a 25k.

And Coco Gauff, age 15, born 2004, obviously took top spot for the girls, winning the WTA event in Linz, beating top-10 player, Bertens, en route.

A little shout out this week (week 43) to Jacob Fearnley, born 2001, who got his first ATP singles ranking points, winning his way through qualis at the 25k in the US, and making the QFs in the MD.

Nice one, Jacob

Just to flesh this out a bit, congratulations to Jacob (JCH 27) who is a freshman at TCU in Fort Worth, Texas and was competing in a 25K hosted by his College on their campus.

TCU are the only college to successful facilitate the development of a top male (Cam Norrie JCH 10) British junior directly from college tennis onto the ATP tour although there are obviously high hopes that the present NCAA singles champion Paul Jubb (JCH 354) will do the same.

Also, from his great victory in week 42, at the 15k in the Madrid 15k, Anton Matusevich (born 2001) now goes up to ATP 690

Just as a summary, we now have eight junior boys on the ATP singles ranking list.

In order:

354 - Jack Draper
690 - Anton Matusevich
882 - George Loffhagen
1326 - Arthur Féry ('02)
1612 - Blu Baker
1612 - Derrick Chen ('03)
1612 - Finn Murgett
1712 - Felix Gill ('02)

Jacob will obviously make it nine as of next week

(Mukhtar Andu dropped out as he failed to defend his Nigeria points)

In the doubles, Harry Wendelken ('01) and James Story ('01) are also ranked (along with Jack, George, Anton and Blu - and - as of this week - Mukhtar)

Week 44 sees 2002-born Arthur Féry take the doubles title at the 15k in Spain (along with Voisin (FRA)).

Having been unranked in doubles, this will give him a kick-start. Great to get an adult title too.

In the singles, Matthis Ross (2001) did very well, winning three matches and making the MD of the 25k in USA. Unfortunately then had to retire....

Week 45

Arthur (2002) got his doubles ATP ranking (at 1342) and will add to that as he made the SFs of the 15k in Spain again.

He also got a win in the singles MD.

Ola Pitak (2001) made the doubles final in Egypt.

Week 46

Well done to Emma Raducanu (born 2002) who came through qualis and made the QF in the 25k in Minsk.

Well done, too, to Sonay Kartal (born 2001) on getting another counter with a R1 win, after qualifying, in Greece

Ola Pitak (born 2001) picks up another doubles title - in Egypt, with her sister.

Anton Mat (2001) got a R1 win in Greece too (although that's hardly major news, given his ranking).

Week 47

All the players came to an end of their respective runs, as per the post above.

Except for Jacob, who put in a super week to make the final of the 15k in Austin, Texas and only lost out by a whisker (4-6 in the third) against the top seed, ranked 369
