I'm sure the focus for Liam will be points and prizes rather than risk have his confidence take a bashing on the dirt. 

I had guessed after Miami he would take three weeks off (he won't won't still be in Miami next week , will he?!) and then go to Mexico where there are three consecutive +H hard court challengers, the last of which clashes with new Glasgow challenger. It is hard to imagine him not supporting the UK events.

Anyway, congrats to Liam for winning when not playing all that well.

There is a funny clip on Twitter of Liam's "air shot" when attempting a smash. I have linked below but I don't know if you have to have a twitter account to be able to see it.

Given Liam's own reaction on Twitter, it seems like Liam has taken this in good humour.  His response was something along the lines of "the ball is very small, the sky was very blue and it was very windy".

Krajinovic is about as good as it gets as far as the seeds go here.

His place in top 32 almost entirely down to his run to the final in Paris indoor last year.

That and winning 5 challengers!

Perfect result and really that is exactly what Liam is going to have to become a top 100 player, bad games, bad conditions just keep the ball in play let your opponent beat himself.

Servebots are a learning curve, particular if they are in and around the top 50. Point taken about retaining your own server but you need to see plenty of it/them in order to anticipate your return.

Not a big fan but I find watching Andy playing the best servebots fascinating, slowly working them out, initially out of touch but eatching,?eventually opening up that chink and cracking their serve open.

 Rome was not built in a day Seagull. The way the rankings are at the moment, it is a lottery, you can quite easily cherry pick events and accumulate enough points to be top 30, like those spanish players do.

 Kyle is on the schedule for his doubles match today. Hard to know what to expect, has Kyle ever played a doubles match at this level before? On face value, Isner and Young would seem firm favourites but you never know. 

Cant see Jamie or Dom on the schedule today, presumably they will start off tomorrow? Tough draw for Dom + , Bryans seem to have been having a resurgent spell of form. Jamie and Bruno should expect to win that match although for a first rounder at this level it is relatively tough.

Kyle played 2 weeks ago in Indian Wells with Franko Skugor against Carreno Busta and Marrero    Only lost 7-6(6) 7-5 too. Plus Wimbledon doubles of course.

Needless to say singles is of course very much the priority and, great as the Aussie Open was, he needs at least fairly soon to start backing up these points. I assume he sees some doubles as complimentary to his singles.

 Duh! And I remember commenting on that at the time! Oh well, and as you say I suspect for him this is v much about court time after his lay off. Zimonjic however will be motivated and  add a lot of experience so could well be able to push the Americans.

Looks to have been reasonably competitive - though perhaps not as competitive as the match in which Karen Khachanov & Andrey Rublev beat Fabrice Martin & Franko Skugor by 6-7(3) 6-3 [15-13]!
