Wow krajinovic just cheats his way to first set. What a douchebag

How was he cheating ? I am not able to watch...

Broady hit a smash on set point down that was going out but hit krajinovic on foot. Umpire for some reason didn't call it. Krajinovic ran to his chair and said it was umpires call

Serve not firing today. Hardly got any cheap points. Return game was better.

Hmm, seems that Mr Krajinovic may be lacking in some aspects of the class department.

Player with a more talent and future in the game won. End of.

hard to comment on the incident as i didnt see it, but not good, Krajinovic however is clearly a strong player, reached paris indoor masters final last year so must have some talent to do that. Still, good week for Broady really and new career high ranking.

Just watched a recording of this match - the ball did hit his foot but it was well out by then: Krajinov was well behind the baseline.

Really wanted Liam to do even better but I don't understand how this rules works if the opponent is obviously behind the baseline.

Does not matter where he was. If it hits him he loses point

Correct, the rule exists in that sense, because even though it seems the ball is going well out, it is possible for a massive gust of wind to blow in back in, so if it hits the a player, we would have never known what the balls final resting place would have been.

Also, you are allowed to go over the opponents side of the court, as long as you do not touch the net, as the ball could bounce on your side and then get blown back over to the opponents side.

I know what you mean. The rule is clear  - if it touches you before it hits the ground it never bounced 'out' so it's not out - and for a good reason - those mighty gusts of wind are unpredictable smile

BUT I can't feel that Liam got cheated - his ball was going miles out - to be honest, he would have got completely and undeservedly lucky if the call had been correct.

So what if the receiver, off balance, racket fallen to the floor.....stretched out his foot to a ball about to land in....and deflected it out. As it never bounced "in" would the player receiving win the point even though they intentionally kicked the ball out????
