Danielle Konotoptseva is half-Russian, and Dasha is a common diminutive of female "Da-" names in Russia (see also: Daria / Dasha Gavrilova).

Presumably that's why she prefers to be called it.

Some good knowledge and information of names and origins here. Good discussion this, glad to have stimulated some debate. Exactly what a forum should be, especially in threads like this where it doesnt interfere with results etc.

It could be done either way round but that is just the way I started it and I have used the same scoring system since.

And very good it is too, sir!

Update on the tables as the end of the season gets closer.

To say it is a close race is clearly an understatement. Three way tie at the top and another 8 within 3 points.

So as the saying goes it is all to play for and with lots of British players only a few points apart ( or even on the same points) then the GB rankings could easily change

Hmm, well was good to be up there.

I think there are a number of likely short term movements in the GB rankings that are going to be unhelpful led by Naomi heading south.

C'mon Naomi, get out there and defend my ( I mean your ) position. All the best.

Yes my thoughts exactly. Naomi going south - next week she falls to GB #7 and out of the top 200 - could see a few of us going south, me included. It's been a tough year for her. Wishing her well too.

At least some of us can't travel much further south.

So here is what you have all been waiting for.......

The final scores are in and brendan has stormed up the table to take a convincing victory helped with some good scores on the world predictions including max scores for Gabriella Taylor and Katy Dunne.

Michael D and Tenpar share second place.

All but 4 managed to match or better "Status Quo" (just putting the predictions the same as the rankings as of Jan 1st).

Special mention to Bolt who was the only person with a spot on prediction for World Ranking with Katy Dunne at 253. Shows the wisdom of not rounding as there were a few predictions for Katy of 250.
