And one surprise so far in the doubles with Alicia Barnett and Laura Sainsbury comfortable winners against Beth and Laura Deigman 7-5 6-2. I wonder if Beth is a bit injured now, or maybe just tired, as she fell away badly in the second set of singles match against Maia too...
Wow, and that looked like it was going to be a second upset in the other doubles SF. One set all and Emma Hurst and Eden were well up in the MTB, until Sam and Maia pulled it round right at the end winning 6-2 2-6 10-8.
As stated previously Laura is the weak link. Beth cannot carry the team all the time. Beth is very fit. Sam and Maia just about got through despite being well down in the MTB

Some tie break that... set points both ways until Eden finally pulls it out 7-6(8) - which after losing her first two opportunities for the set, I didn't think she was going to win. Hope she can keep going now...
Sam in charge in third set. Eden just been broken back
All in all a very positive week for the girls across all venues, with plenty of CH's when the points get added on - Boulter, Maia, Eden(if she wins today), Beth, Fran, Ella, Ola, Katie S

ANd here both matches finally decided. Sam does prevail quite easily in the third set... and Eden does too, but with still huge swings in the second set. From *3-0 she went to 3-4* and then in that 8th game that went on forever, she had multiple chances to break - and Remondina to win the game... until eventually Eden prevailed. She then promptly had 2 BPs against her in the next game, but held, and then broke again to win the second set 6-4.
