R16: (WC) Katie Boulter WR 246 vs Andrea Petkovic (GER) WR 86 (CH=9 10/2011)
R16: (4) Ekaterina Alexandrova (RUS) WR 76 (=CH) vs (WC) Laura Robson WR 188
And the Doubles:
QF: Shuko AOYAMA (JPN) [1] Zhaoxuan YANG (CHN) [1] vs Aleksandra PITAK (GBR) (WC) Katarzyna PITAK (GBR) (WC)
QF: Jocelyn RAE (GBR) Laura ROBSON (GBR) vs Makoto NINOMIYA (JPN) Renata VORACOVA (CZE)
I really don't like this event.
How are the points working.
The idea of the ITF is consistent 32 draws throughout.
On the WTA they can have more, with separate points structures, but not fewer.
What are R1 winners receiving?
Is the winner getting the same points as someone winning another $100K+H, even though they have played a round less?
I appreciate the demand they're trying to fill in this particular week, but this invitational, with special rules is a dangerous and unnecessary precedent upon what was a realtively stable infrastructure for draws and points.

Data I post, opinions I offer, 'facts' I assert, are almost certainly all stupidly wrong.
Laura consistently being able to be competitive against solid top 100 players, but not quite good enough, going back to lower grade itf's after Wimby should be ideal, and I suspect by the time of the US open, she maybe able to win some of these types of matches.

She hasn't lost this one yet. Or has she ? I agree with the general sentiment though, it does appear that way and you have seen her play live so definitely have a better picture.
Absolutely not lost yet, and fingers crossed she can win the final 2 sets, but there does seem a general trend developing, but one with an upward curve which is encouraging.
