John Lloyd right about Kyle very rarely shows any change-up when he's down. It's a while since he's won any match after losing the first set, not this year anyway.
But so wrong about if the top players want 3 sets then the ITF have to give them 3 sets. Nooooo !!! Certainly the lack of top players does detract for me, but not at that cost, and as Sue says the fans wouldn't be for that, they love the format. Plus I'm actually far from convinced changing singles to best of 3 would have the effect of getting most of them playing that might not have otherwise, many would surely still want the week off. You really risk losing on both fronts. Best of 3 without the top players and Davis Cup would be truly gone for me. Be very careful, ITF !
Every two years was mentioned very briefly and kind of dismissed. But I do think just having in odd years, ie certainly non Olympic years, may have merit, plus say one or two tournaments going to biannual to help accomodate the Davis Cup years.

I just get the feeling that Kyle's confidence levels are simply not there at the moment and that is most apparent on the big points. He is not playing too badly but his go to weapon is misfiring at the wrong moments. but let's not be too disconsolate. he has just played the Nş17 in the world and the first two sets were 7-5 7-6(6) in Pouille's favour so it wasn't that bad. And had it not been for that outrageous drop shot from Pouille when Kyle was serving at *5-2 in the breaker, things could have been very different.
I get the feeling he needs a couple of good runs in some 250s where he gets a favourable draw and he will be back to his best.
Dan played as well as he could, but he was never going to win. We've still got a chance in the doubles, but our chances are still poor. We could be facing a whitewash.
Kind of throwing Dan to the lions. But not sure there was any better alternative. He won't beat a fit Pouille.
I am guessing Leon was at least keeping an eye on Jay and more particulatly Cam beyond just hitting partners, but the lions would no doubt have fed on them too and would be such a tough ask with Dan at least having much more experience.
Pouille will beat Evans Dan has not played at this level on clay ever
will he play the clay court season he skipped it last year
He'll presumably play the French Open this year, being direct into the main draw as opposed to qualifying last year. So I would guess the question will be re any preparatory clay tournament(s).
