Lovely

very important to get things done quickly

With such a favourable draw it is good to see Andy keep plenty in the tank for later

Looking forward to seeing Mr Groth get that big frame around the court.

Rafa has just gone out to Verdasco of all people (I mean, Verdasco a few years ago, maybe, but now?!)

Anyway, he hit *90* winners and claimed at the end that he closed his eyes and that made the balls more likely to go in LOL

H2H v Sousa is 6-0, including two straight sets wins in the last 3 years at the AO, last year's in the same round, i.e. R3.

Andy was sublime today. Groth came into the net routinely, and Murray just kept sending lob after lob over his head. Unplayable in that first set.

The winner of Andy vs Joao Sousa will have Australian opposition in the L16 in either Bernard Tomic or The Milkman.

A mathematically perfect draw.
Drawn against Seeds numbered 32, 16, 8, 4 - the lowest seed possible at each round.
How that translates into reality given the vagaries of form is anyones guess, but it was an interesting oddity.

Not quite: he gets the first seed in the final, not the second.

But if the seedlings worked out, #1 is the lowest possible seed he could face in the final...

Andy vs Sousa is scheduled on Margaret Court Arena at not before 7 pm local, 8 am GMT. With two women's and one men's singles earlier in the day, the night session should probably be on schedule.

So Jo and Andy can bookend a few hours sleep

( although there is also British doubles interest and all these other pretty decent peskies to see you through the night )

A friend texted me today to say that Andy was on a plane as baby was coming early. Was really disappointed all day as felt Andy had a real chance! Have no idea where he got his info from!! Glad he was wrong
