Most significant thing related to Andy could actually be taking place on Rod Laver, where play has been stopped, between Ivanovic & Keys, reportedly to give treatment to Ivanovic's coach, who is, of course, Nigel Sears, Andy's father-in-law.
Seems Nigel either fainted or collapsed, and we wish him well.

Not vintage, by any means, but ground out the professional result.
The news on Nigel Sears is positive, after the usual wildfire speculation, Jamie Murray reported first hand that he was conscious, sitting and talking.
Best wishes for very much more good news for Murray and the extended Murray family, both on and off court, at, and around, this Australian Open.

Fingers crossed Nigel Sears will be OK by the looks of it, as ISF said a minute ago smile

Oh, and well done Andy for easing through sets 3 & 4

Well done on our men's singles stepping up to the plate so that GB have representatives in all five senior L16s ( I throw it out there that that must be extremely unusual )

As far as I can see, so do Australia and the USA, plus the Czech Republic and Spain could yet still.

L32:  (2) Andy Murray WR 2 defeated (32) Joćo Sousa (POR) WR 33 by 6-2 3-6 6-2 6-2

******

L16:  (16) Bernard Tomic (AUS) WR 17 (= CH) vs (2) Andy Murray WR 2

Bernie the Aussie Bolt has not beaten Andy in any of their three encounters, losing to him by 5, 3 & 2 in the semi-final of that memorable DC campaign last year, by 3 & 3 in the Miami Masters in 2013 (L64) & by 3 & 2 in the semi-final in Brisbane in 2012.

David Law tweeted that he feels fine now and hopes to be released from hospital in the morning if the test results are ok.
