On serve 3 -2 with Murray and Peers to serve in the second.

In fairness, CD, my understanding is that it's a rotten day weatherwise; the men's doubles matches are almost the only non-juniors/university/exhibition/wheelchair matches happening during the day; the evening SFs have been cancelled; no court will have more than three matches and most have two; it's a working day ... even I, who am a doubles afficionado of the first order, might not take a day off work and trek out to see two or three matches in the rain ... or maybe not see matches, if there's too much rain.

Edit: and even the exhibition matches have been cancelled!

Enjoyed watching that but Dom and Robert were well outclassed today - the French duo were firing on all cylinders.

Shame there was only a man and his dog in the stands - doesn't say much for doubles if a Grand Slam semi-final barely fills the front two rows.

Why the french didn't partner Mahut with Herbert in the DC I'll never know.

Aye, apparently a bit dreich.

Maybe Dunblane roots will help Jamie anyway.

They're asking the same question. But (cf point made on DC thread), I think it's because they were scared enough of Ward that they didn't feel they could assume they'd win both of the second singles, so didn't put in the specialist doubles team, but instead kept a singles player in reserve should the 5th match be necessary.

Tie breaker not going well so far: Quonson up 5-1.

Looks as if they were, as has been said, trying to cover the potential 5th rubber decider with a fresh Gasquet.

Fact though surely was that that was a rubber that they were favourites for whatever, especially the form James was in, and the match that likely really mattered was the doubles. And they have very good doubles players, err such as Herbert paired with Mahut !

I think as soon as they went with that team, a pretty 50 / 50 looking match became GB favourites.
