RE: Week 32 - ATP 1000 - Coupe Rogers, Montréal, Canada (hard)

6-4 4-6

I see that Andy is 3/14 for BP convertions. Is that in a lot of separate return games or say mostly in some longer games or a bit in between ?

That would have been an even better game to win with 3 ( separate ) MPs.

Serve it out, mate ...

*5-3

Excellent performance. So pleased he didn't tail off. Still thought at 3-0 30-0 he should have gone for the jugular but he let him off the hook. But he served well to get the job done. Poor old Novaks elbow?

Saw the 2nd half of the contest and thought the strategy was generally good, more aggressive than normal, some super backhand cross-court shots that you tend not to see unless he's playing Nadal. Also came to the net to volley, with mixed success. There were some very strange points towards the end of the contest; perhaps the heat had got to both players. Andy seemed intent on hitting the ball straight back to Novak when he had an easy put away.

A good win to get.

Great win for Andy after not beating Novak since Wimbledon 2013. Now moves up to WR2 and so will be seeded 2 for US Open.
