Bravo - may be a sign that a good week at the Hopman Cup has set her up nicely for the AO.

Alternatively, might just reflect that Stephens struggles with her style. Did anyone watch live? Was Heather playing more defensively?

Great win Hev, Sloane just hates playing our number 1 Brit, it just appears as simple as that.

I nearly suggested we all have a £5 bet on Hev at the generous bookies odds, would have been money well spent.

Wow! I wasn't expecting that score . Well done Hev. Dare I say it, but with the form Hev is in she could on and win the whole event, there is no-one she has to fear in the draw. Anyway great start to the year.

I was hoping Heather would win that one, but I didn't dare hope it would be with that score. When I say that the match was only just over an hour long I was expecting maybe a retirement. Well done Heather!
