If you count the Hopman Cup win that must be 12 sets in a row now? Gotta be good for confidence even if she may be a bit tired (I guess the lack of 3-setters helps there too).
I don't have bt sport so thanks to Peter Too for making following it possible without staying up!
Fantastic week for Heather; congratulations on her second WTA level singles title and a new CH (E&OE!) in the new rankings list :)
Fingers crossed for the AO (particularly with 180 points to defend in short order from last year's AO qualies and her Midland title)
It would be wonderful to see a smooth progress for Heather now to the world top 12 I predicted for her [on another, now defunct, board ;)] back in 2008 (albeit I said by the start of 2012!).
Nice article about Heather in the Guardian as per Steven's tweet
I've just watched the match and conditions were horrible. Heather struggled early on, but as the set went on Heather became more and more consistent and Madison became more error strewn and the second set was fairly comfortable.
Heather had a lot variation more to her game than Madison and the drive down the line and backhand cross were particularly effective today.
Fabulous - so happy for her. I have no internet upstairs and it takes quite a while to get the Other Half up, washed and dressed, but I sneaked into the spare room where there is a tv and checked teletext. Good luck for the AO, Heather - I hope the good form continues.
