So masterplan to try and keep up with the tennis overnight without being wasted all Saturday:

- Record BT sport (plus following programme incase of rain delay/ Hev mammoth 3 setter)

- Check up on Liam and Kyle using Australian Open app on phone if wake up in middle of night or first thing in morning. Don't want to use my ATP/WTA app as too much temptation to check up on Hev.

- 8am watch Hobart final with cup of coffee and toast - gives me 2 hours before I have to take son to his tennis lesson, should be fine with skipping adverts...

No bacon in house otherwise would have been perfect with bacon sandwich!

All the best to Heather in the final.

I've not looked into live rankings, but just looking at the current rankings, unless I'm missing something the highest Heather could ever reach in this coming Monday's rankings is WR 38 on 1291 points.

This is because noone should be dropping any points since it was the midpoint of last year's Aussie Open, and Coco Wandeweghe is currently WR 37 on 1295 points. Sloane Stephens, currently WR 34 on 1372 points, should remain on these points at the least.

Maybe some 'live rankings' are already adjusting out last year's Aussie Open points ?

Top 32 must surely be the target now- what a great start to the season. I am not a fan of Brengle personally but she can play very well when she is on but is prone to tantrums and hissy fits. I think Heather's playing style could frustrate her, but Brengle does have the power to trouble Hev.

Should be a good fight!

Yep, the list I posted above has the Oz Open 14 points deducted.

I think the WTA may be doing the same thing in this 53 week year? Certainly this week Pironkova lost 498 points for Sydney '14 at the start of this week and dropped from WR37 to 67, regaining most of this ground in the course of the week.

I don't know whether the WTA list will deduct Oz Open 14 points this coming Monday. If not, Heather would not be 37, but somewhere not far below that. Her previous CH is 39.

Good interview here...

It shouldn't - points stay on for at least 52 weeks and if 52 weeks does not end on a ranking date, they should come off after 53 weeks, not 51.

Rain break at 15-0. Very windy conditions making constructive play difficult.

Heather saved 6 break points in her opening service game. Heather 1-0*

Six more break points in Heather's 2nd service game with Brengle finally converting one. Heather 1-2*
The wind is carrying shots out of court that would normally land close to the line.

Heather earns three break points and converts the third. She is now moving Brengle around the court a lot more than earlier, the rallies are long but Heather is starting to take control.
Heather *3-3
