True the French is on clay but Andy says it's his fav surface.

Thought that was the US Open?

Andy says that clay is his fav surface but outdoor hard is probably his best surface

That was amazing! Andy played brilliantly, and I was so happy that he won despite sometimes when he let Hewitt back into the match. Does anyone know how many breaks of serve there were in each set of that match?

I thought that Andy and his girlfriend were adorable at the end, but was annoyed that Mark Petchey wasn't there. Anyone know why he wasn't? I loved Andy's speech at the end. He reallly got the crowd on his side. Funny thing is that I think he mentioned everyone in his thank you speech apart from his family and coach (although I guess he may have done that in the prior interview). I think that Andyhas got the respect of all of the top players after this tournament. It was really interesting to see a match between the 2 who are really similarly alike in their matchplay. At one point, ironically the commentator said that Lleyton was slightly better at excecuting it though.

Andy has grabbed the mike, he would like to thank Leyton Hewitt, the supporters who turned up and those back home, the sponsers, the ballbays, the line judges and anyone else involved.

He is already looking forward to next year.

The massive improvement this week was with the 1st serve percentage, for the first ever time Andy clocked it well over 60% in several matches which is truly world class.

That's a nice touch from Andy, really good sportsmanship to praise his opponent

As I said, he forgot his coach!

Does anyone else usually ask to take the mike? That was brilliant, and I guess shows the innocence of youth. He's already doing well on the thank you speeches.

Murray's play was amazing at times. His backhand shots were brillliant and I absolutely loved it when Murray's returns sometimes left Hewitt stranded. Murray's returns were a wicked weapon which counteracted some of Hewitt's weaker serves really well. He really can excecute those lobs well as well can;t he?

I think that he congratulated Murray on his first win and on his previous wins against good players. Might be mistaking it for what the mike people said though.

Andy's assured of a place in the top 50. He could overtake Henman who will drop unless he does really well in Rotterdam this week.

That he played a really good match. I didn't really hear much else - I think I was still too stunned to be honest.

Wonder what Petch was thinking - I think Andy forgot to mention him when he was thanking the crowd, the ballboys, the lines people et al. In fact, he didn't only forget Petch - he forgot just about everyone who wasn't in the crowd. I think he was nervous about doing the thank you speech right.

Think I'm going to stay up to watch the Super Mac match - see if it lives up to the singles final.
