RE: Murray v Hewitt

Andy wins 7-3 in the tie break of the third set, can you get much closer than that?

Wow, a throughly deserved first title. When was the last time a Brit won a title? I am soo happy right now, not sure what to do!

Murray is now in the top 50 with a ranking of 47, closing in on Greg (43) and Tim (40).

Mostly Andy playing some amazing tennis. I said last night that the Roddick match was the best of Andy's life but most definately this match is now.

Hewitt fought so hard, he produced big serves like a champion on the match points but Murray was just too good.

Murray is going to be a serious contender come the next grand slam

Amazing. Brilliant - so well deserved and to beat Roddick and Hewitt back to back is just outstanding. Nice of him to confirm who the girl was at the end as well incidentally.

He won!!! 2-6, 6-1, 7-6[3]

What a match, best match of 2006 so far - beats all others hollow - the quality was just so high and in that final set, neither player gave an inch - Andy just had the edge throughout and played a wonderful breaker

Let's not get totally and utterly carried away. It's the French on clay.

Tie break

server:

M: Andy hit about 4 big fhs and eventually broke through 1-0

H: Second Serve, good rally from Andy. 2-0

H: Double fault 3-0

M: Double fault 3-1

M: Fine first serve, a little bit slower but right in the corner and Hewitt can't dig it out. 4-1

H: Ace 4-2

H: A bit of a wild rally and Hewitt hits a fh long and very wide 5-2

M: Second serve, Hewitt leaps back and hits the forehand winner 5-3

M: Good first serve from Andy 6-3  If Hewitt pulls out two aces I'm going to break something

H: Second serve. Long rally and Andy fittingly hits the bh passing shot to win his FIRST ATP TITLE
