It saddens me to announce I'm finished playing tennis. Thanks everyone, it's been fun x

Seems like Cannes didn't work out - a shame . . .

And I am saddened to read the announcement.  When I saw him play for the first time about a year ago - Glasgow maybe - his serve and forehand stood out as being miles above the rest of the field.  There was plenty of room for improvement in plenty of areas but it seemed obvious to me that with the right attitude, coaching and support here was a lad who could develop into something.  For all the money spent on elite tennis, how do players like this slip through the net and give up before they get going?

In terms of Harry - came in late to the sport and always said he would only play whilst he was enjoying his tennis. I'm disappointed, but not surprised. He may change his mind if he misses it too much.

Great win for Tom - if only he could get a full season of fitness and intensity, he could be top 300 easily.

Half the seeds departed after round 1, which I hinted at.

Marcus is really struggling at the moment, so great chance for Tom to make semi final and Sapwell to make QF in that quarter.

I don't have much hope in the bottom quarter - Grigelis and Bossel should come through.

The other two quarters are wide open, but Cipolla's comprehensive defeat of Toby, must make Luke's chances much more difficult. I've got a sneaky feeling for Gabb to get through and play Salisbury.....

I'm sure Bob will be cheering on Bambo, Gabb, Tom F and Gosea over the next few weeks. Great chance to crack top 500.

I certainly will be. Just a shame that Cam can't fit in a few more futures before his college commitments take over completely.

Very sad but is harry more realistic about starting a new career rather than risking it all on tennis

Sad news about Harry, a real character, a little bit eccentric, which I really liked, and a bloody good tennis player as well. Once the relationship with Josh terminated it seemed that things gradually moved in the wrong direction. Shame, but I hope he finds the right way forward for him and enjoys his non tennis life.

A very good win for Luke (4 and 0) and a solid win for Josh M (3 and 4) but a heavy defeat for Dave (1 and 2).

More seeds are dropping

Bambo took out Cipolla easily to guaranteed a top 500

Dave Rice lost very easily

Also good win for Josh Milton

A very good win for Luke but I don't think it guarantees him a place in the top 500 - he has 2 more points due off when these 3 get added on 3 Nov, so 69 + 3 - 2 = 70 points, currently enough for WR 508. A QF win would almost certainly get him into the top 500 though.

Apologies - didn't spot the two points coming off

Marcus has retired against Tom F

Peter Ashley is about to lose in straight sets

Bambo is the only Brit left in the bottom half of the draw

Jules Marie has beaten Gabb 6-1 7-5

The Grig had a real tight match to beat the Dutch guy - such a shame that James couldn't quite beat him (the Dutch guy) yesterday.

Very pleased for Luke - time for a little run of form . ..
