RE: Week 43 - Great Britain F17 ($15,000) - Manchester (Hard)

Still a little strange (to me) that Clay, for instance, didn't come back to watch.

More strange that none of the coaching team were there.

And there must be others players (top or not) - Bolton tweets plenty of photos of groups of teenagers playing/doing physical work-outs. I guess some are in school. But, in which case, there would definitely have been coaches free who could have come.

Anyway, as you say, Bolton doesn't seem to be very dynamic at the moment so I guess it's all part and parcel . . . (and they may well have been there on other days).

To, completes a fantastic week, winning his 2nd Futures title

FINAL: Tom Farquharson WR 686 beat Adrien Bossel (SUI) WR 412 (CH 317 in 2012) by 4 & 1

This should seem him rise well over 100 places back into the top 550 on Monday week

Fantastic from Tom. A big leap back towards the Top 500.

Now if only he hadn't withdrawn from Loughborough this week. I'm sure he had his reasons. Roll on Bath in 2 weeks.

What a great result !

So pleased for him.

And there was me thinking that Bossel would be too savvy for him . . . :::)))

Excellent week from Tom. It's been too long. Would be great if he can have a clear run of tournaments now without those horrible injury niggles.

When he's fit and on form he seems to be able to easily storm through a field. Dropped just one set this week - his first one, against 7th seed Cagnina - before winning the next 10 in a row.

Tom cruised the final. Broke in the very first game and was never really put under pressure. Bossel made too many mistakes from the back of the court and his huge serve was the only reason the scoreline was closer.

There were about 50-60 spectators today, mostly youngish kids with parents who train their as part of the City in the community scheme.

Just out of interest where is Tom based and where does he train?

Fine comeback win for Tom, I wasn't one to ever speculate about his full potential, as to me he never looked more than a solid baseliner with an excellent mental mindset when I've watched him live. However this result does make it look thats he's come back in the best form of his life, top 250 can't be out of the question now.
