Match point saved with an ace after a couple of deuces and game points to Stanciute

Another MP ... yes!

L32: (Q) Harriet Dart WR 663 beat (LL) Lina Stanciute (LTU) WR 609 (CH 197 in 2009) by 7-5 5-7 7-5
L32: (WC) Eden Silva WR 805 lost to Julie Coin (FRA) WR 282 (CH 60 in 2009) by 1 & 4
L32: (WC) Jazzamay Drew WR 1081 lost to Viktorija Golubic (SUI) WR 219 (CH 156 in Mar) by 0 & 2
L32: (WC) Francesca Stephenson WR 884 lost to (Q) Myrtille Georges (FRA) WR 293 (CH 245 in 2013) by 5-7 6-3 6-2
L32: (WC) Naomi Cavaday WR 1123 lost to (2) Vesna Dolonc (SRB) WR 152 (CH 84 in 2013) by 4 & 0

I can't remember when Harriet's match started, but 3 very close sets and plenty of close games (to 30 or deuce) in those sets! It looks like top seed Buyukakcay will win the battle of the Turks to play her in R2.

No hanging around there Steven !

I do have a soft spot for Lina, I did speak to her once at the hotel reception at Wrexham, and she was very open and friendly, BUT what a win for Harriet having been 0-40 down at 5-5 in the third.

Very good from Harriet :)

It was a good R1 draw, but still very good to come through in the end in what looks to have been a pretty competitive match throughout.

I would have been very surprised if any of the other girls had got through. Certainly well done to Fran on her performance and pleased she's pretty pleased :) Ultimately some way off closing in on the match, but it looks as if the first two sets had quite a lot of games she just couldn't quite clinch.

What a great win for Harriet - arguable far better than her win yesterday against the higher ranked canadian player (who's lost in the first round of her previous 13 tournaments or so . . )

that's a tidy number of points that Harriet's been accumulating . ..

Well done Harriet, she's a bit of a dark horse, not as favoured as the Katy(ies) or Eleanor, but may well come good.

In doubles
Lucy (with Barbat) beat Lauren & Jazz, 6-4 6-2
Eden (with Gatto-Monticone) unsurprisingly lost to a Belgian duo including Mestach, 2-6 3-6

Oh so close for Lucy and Karen Barbat who lost the first set 3-6, won the next 6-1, saved at least three MPs in the MTB, and eventually lost it 11-9

Still a good performance though, by the looks of it.
