The Main Draw is out.

In brief:

Harriet Dart gets Lucky Loser Stanciute

Francesca gets qualifier Myrtille Geroges

Jazzamay has Golubic

Eden plays Julie Coin

and Naomi gets second seed Dolonc

NB no Katy with Jazzamay getting her wc ?

Hard to see any British winners isn't it? Harriet the best chance.

EWS playing doubles ?!

I didn't even know that you were allowed to play singles and doubles in different tournaments in the same week. You can't have both singles or both doubles can you ?

I guess it's just lucky it's so convenient :)

A quick scan of twitter suggests katy was in Wales this weekend for her granny's 90th. Maybe she pulled out as she's still on her way home rather than due to injury?

Pity if so. Hopefully not too serious.

I was about to check up whether there was some other Wales , like across the Atlantic, apart from the one next to Shrewsbury ?!

Can anyone tell me why this has been downgraded to a £25?

Flipping heck, £25 !!?? Wasn't it once £75,000 ?

Seriously, I don't know the particular reasons.

At a guess:

1. to save money
2. to try and attract some GB players

Eden is a set down, but is 4-3 up and was a break up in the second set.

If it was to attract British players, that went well then, considering we have 3 Brits competing at a US err 75K, and for the Brits entered here, once Katy withdrew, they possibly just about without exception would have been better served with two or three 10Ks.

I realise they have to plan well in advance, and some more realistic 25Kers have been lost to such as injury and concentration on doubles.

But this year's GB 25K / 10K mix always did look too skewed and just as of now 25K is just about the least useful tournament for Brits.
