Hi Var, as addict mentions the cut off is arbitrarily set as 1990. So in theory any player who achieved a CH since then should be in the table - assuming their CH is high enough to make it in the space available - currently thats 485 but in time hopefully that will drop.
I see. I think it would be interesting to take the date back, though - if we look back to Virginia and Sue in the 1970s, we had number 2 and number 3. Now I think that is interesting. Do you detect a declining trend? I will leave that one to the experts. Su B should have beaten Betty Stove in that semi at Wimbledon- showing my age now LOL. Gappy days!
There just is no trend in our top women from the 70s through to now
We had these great players in the 70s, we also had most of the 90s and early noughties with no-one in the top 100, and we have had a more consistent in between period from when such as Anne K and Bally emerged through to now.
