So it wasn't long since the last posting, but Katie new CH inside the Top50 is worth a follow up update. Although the list of recent CHs is short, Jodie's new CH means she is only 1 ranking away from matching Harriet while Lily's new CH moves her from the middle and onto the left list.

Hi, Thanks for this. Can I just ask what date the cut-off is for inclusion in the list? For example, Virginia was number 2, and Sue B was a former number 3?

An excellent table and a great record to have.

Var - the list is only from 1990 onwards, hence noo Wade or Barker.

So weve had 16 players make the top 100 since 1990 if Im reading it right? Whereas countries like Czech Rep almost have that at one time !

I suspect the mens is no better though.

Good stats Aberdaberdonian, thank you!

If it went back just a few more years we'd have at least 3 more. The same can't be said for the men which was in a sorry state for a long time before Tim came along.

Certainly Jo Durie, Anne Hobbs, Sara Gomer maybe, would get in there if we took in the 80s as well.

Hi Var, as addict mentions the cut off is arbitrarily set as 1990.  So in theory any player who achieved a CH since then should be in the table - assuming their CH is high enough to make it in the space available smile - currently thats 485 but in time hopefully that will drop.

I see. I think it would be interesting to take the date back, though - if we look back to Virginia and Sue in the 1970s, we had number 2 and number 3. Now I think that is interesting. Do you detect a declining trend? I will leave that one to the experts. Su B should have beaten Betty Stove in that semi at Wimbledon- showing my age now LOL. Gappy days!
