There just is no trend in our top women from the 70s through to now

We had these great players in the 70s, we also had most of the 90s and early noughties with no-one in the top 100, and we have had a more consistent in between period from when such as Anne K and Bally emerged through to now.

I see. I think it would be interesting to take the date back, though - if we look back to Virginia and Sue in the 1970s, we had number 2 and number 3. Now I think that is interesting. Do you detect a declining trend? I will leave that one to the experts. Su B should have beaten Betty Stove in that semi at Wimbledon- showing my age now LOL. happy days!
