So tune in on Thursday when the next instalment should be scheduled.
Good to see that the organisers have learned from experience - and are making sure they zip through the first few rounds, to avoid the usual scheduling chaos in week 2.
The US Open, doncha love it!

I think they have learned from experience and next year the first round will be over 2 days like the other slams (and men's final back to Sunday instead of Monday). Lord only knows why they couldn't make the change this year instead of next.

I tnink it's because they are changing tv companies next year, Monday final is what the current rights holder wants.
Apart from anything else, I can't be doing with the women being a day ahead of the men through most of the tournament, so every other day actually playing a different round.
What are the plan's for the SFs and finals ? The women reverting back to Thursday and Saturday and the men Friday and Sunday or what ?
Apparenty he was absolutely fine in practice yesterday, which seems to confirm that it was "just" cramp on Monday.
Andy said he felt fine yesterday when he woke up, and usually if you are cramping because of lack of conditioning he said you feel sore when you wake up the next morning. Thus he concluded that he mustn't have eaten at the right time/ taken the right fluids etc., etc.,.
Yes, I believe that it was consistent up to and including last year. They have even recently managed to have consistent weather invariably moving the theoretical men's Sunday final to Monday.
As far as I am aware the schedule for many years was, and still is this year for the initial rounds ( I wouldn't swear to the numbers split for round 1 every test, but that's the basis ) :
MEN :
R1 : Mon : 24 matches of one half, Tue : the other 8 matches of that half and 16 matches in the other half, Wed : remaining 16 matches.
R2 : Wed : at least a couple of appetisers ( maybe consistently 2 as this year, not sure ), Thu : remainder of that half, Fri : the other half
R3, R4, QFs : these played in two halves on Sat & Sun, Mon & Tue, Wed & Thu respectively.
SFs : the old Super Saturday
F : Sunday
WOMEN :
R1, R2, R3, R4, QFs : these played in two halves on Mon & Tue, Wed & Thu, Fri & Sat, Sun & Mon, Tue & Wed respectively
It's not the latter part of the draw that feels so rotten - anything could happen before then, and there's no way of avoiding most of those players. In addition, Mr Murray only has to defend QF points ... and then has nothing to defend for the rest of the year. It's the nasty series of banana skins in the earlier rounds - Stepanek (who on a good day can still trouble anyone) and Verdasco (ditto). Ah well ....
Do you suppose that if (should Mr Murray win his next match), I say how worried I am about Mr Tsonga, Mr Djokovic, Mr Wawrinka and Mr Federer, it will have the same effect?
Glad to see a nice, uncomplicated win, and best for the next round.
