Looks like score updates are going to be intermittent today. A bit like the old days where someone had to run outside with a 2p piece and find the nearest phone box.
Very pleased for both of them. Think that the criticism for Liam has been incredibly unfair on this forum and I'd love to see him prove the doubters wrong! Very solid off both wings. Luke is undoubtedly one of our brightest talents and long may it continue.
Liam will admit that he was not playing at all well at the start of the year. I'd like to see Liam again when he is playing well to make a proper judgement.
Luke will be favourite tomorrow(in my eyes) having beaten Liam last week in the British Tour final and will be Luke's second tour final after Greece last year.
A win for Bambo would put him on the verge of breaking into the top 500, a win for Liam would push him into the top 400.
Excellent news The LBs have met in Futures 3 times before, in different rounds each time:
- Luke won in 2 tiebreak sets on clay in Edinburgh (R2) in 2012 - Luke won in a 3rd set tiebreak in Heraklion (SF) last November - the last time Luke made a Futures singles final before thsi week - Liam won 5 & 4 in Doha (QF) last December - the last time Liam made a Futures singles final before this week
They have played 78 games in those 3 matches, winning 39 each!
