RE: Week 17 - Great Britain F9 ($10,000) - Bournemouth (Clay)

Congrats to Liam for winning the latest LB instalment and for a third LB and some MW interloper for winning the doubles.

Well, I hope Ma and Pa Broady break open a bottle of something nice this evening - a fantastic double on Super Saturday - well done to the parents too! Great job :::)))

Wow great win for Liam given Luke seem to have his number in their last few meetings.

Delighted for Liam but at the same time gutted for Luke, who is still waiting for his first singles title on the tour. Hopefully it will come sooner rather than later; he's clearly moving in the right direction (quite rapidly, too). Think it's only a matter of time before he cracks the top 500.

Well Done to Liam. Good to see him winning a title again. Here's to more in Edinburch and Newcastle.

Good week for Luke. His first title will come soon enough

Liam has really found his best form during the last couple of weeks (exc BT event), and now looks on a roll, no sets dropped this week.
As for Bambo, still a decent week and his ranking is also only going in one direction.

I don't think we will get the doubles WC . The rumour is that Dan smethurst will get one of doubles WC's ( well deserved ) if pairs  with LTA favourite Kyle emund .

That's a very good question, Gary.

11 futures titles in 8 months & a challenger SF ( defeated a pair with CR 170 ) surely deserves knowledgement & recognition

Dan S and Ed Corrie qualify as a pair, surely they'd rather stay together as they're an established pair now?  Rice and Thornley, Lewis and Willis.  There's enough to go around unless others get them based on their singles rankings?

Ken and Neil will surely get one. Ed and Dan S as well.

Ken and Neal will surely be main draw direct.

Hutchins/Fleming
Corrie/Smethurst
Rice/Thornley
Willis/Burton
Ward/Evans
Delgado/partner
And Kyle, Dan C and maybe Oli will have singles wild cards so may float about somewhere

With only 5 main draw wild cards to give out there's a bit of traffic in there.

I would imagine, that with Dan S quite likely to get a singles MD WC that, rightly or wrongly, that increases his chances of also getting a doubles WC ( on the basis of being kind of there anyway ). I do agree that it seems more sensible to be in partnership with his regular partner, Ed ( even if err Ed wouldn't likely be there otherwise ).

Surely Ross will use his protected ranking.

Will Ken and Neal get in directly? I'm not sure they will.

... and a video interview on the LTA's weekly round-up page, the layout of which has been greatly improved recently (though I still think they could do with quite a bit of improvement in terms of putting results into context) www.lta.org.uk/News/2014/April/28-04-2014/British-Tennis-Round-Up-28th-April-2014/

Just seen there actually 7 wild cards for doubles these days so surely there is enough to go around.
