11 futures titles in 8 months & a challenger SF ( defeated a pair with CR 170 ) surely deserves knowledgement & recognition
11 futures titles is a fantastic achievement. But like it has been mentioned several times before, this is the lowest tier (10K's) of professional tennis with mainly players entering alongside their singles to make a bit of extra money in most cases. It would be interesting to see how many of the titles Burton/Willis were in fact top seed for as well (probably most).
The main problem, if you're concerned about a Wimbledon WC is... 1 challenger played so far. In my opinion, not enough. And unlike futures, a majority of challenger players in the doubles draw will either be specializing in doubles (as you mention CR 170) or very good singles players.
Pairs like Smethurst/Corrie - have won 2 challenger titles together already!
Thornley/Rice - although struggling to find top form at the moment, are still competing most of the time in challenger events.
I will be gutted if this pair doesn't receive a WC into Wimbledon doubles however will not be too surprised
