Judging from a couple of tweets flying around, I am assuming this is just the first batch of tickets that have sold out and more will be made available later - although I could be wrong.
Simon Briggs tweeted
LTA put 2000 tickets for each day of Davis Cup tie v USA on sale this morning and they went in 10 minutes - pretty encouraging effort
Given the venue is 7000+, it does suggest that this is just the start of the sales process.
I'm not so sure about that last statement.
I had to give numbers for our group booking ahead of the pre-sale to BT (LTA) members which started on 18th Nov. The main sale is the one which started on 25th Nov. There will have already been blocks of tickets reserved for player families/friends, the overseas fans (usually a block behind their players) and dignitaries/LTA officials etc. After that, the group bookings and BT members there probably weren't that many left for the main ssle.
Regards the tweet from Briggs. Over the next few weeks there will be a quantity of tickets coming free which might have been reserved but are not actually needed. It won't be many.
As an example of the popularity of this tie ... it'll be the biggest group from our forum since Wimbledon 2007!!!
We have just 6 tickets left in our group for Saturday only ... I had 1 for Friday but 3 people want it!!!
I wonder which player will get the second singles spot for the US - Querry, Johnson, Sock or Young. I've got a sneaky feeling it will be the player who never lost a college match.
Made a very late decision that I would like to go to the Friday session in 2 weeks time.
Now just need a ticket !
Got a tweet back from British Tennis saying that they were soldout, but there may be more tickets made available later this week. Highland Spring and Aegon appear to be giving free tickets away to a very few via a daily giveaway. So basically does anyone know who I could contact to get a hold of one single ticket. I do have one last option which may lead to getting a ticket, but it requires asking a favour and I don't want to really do that.
Interesting, I wonder if the plan is to play Jamie and Dom together or one with Andy? Have Jamie and Dom ever paired up in the past?
I confess I'm certainly no doubles expert, but I do wonder if it makes more sense picking 2 players with little to no experience playing together as opposed to an existing partnership in Colin and Johnny. Although it would seem very unfair leaving out Jamie and Dom considering their form this year.
Either way that's Leon's decision and I feel we have a great chance going in. Will be interesting to see who America have as no. 2 singles player, but there's no one I'd think Wardy wouldn't have a decent chance against.
Interesting call, I've thought long and hard about this, and I don't think picking Dom makes much sense other than he's playing well. He froze on his debut, and he's never played with either Andy or Jamie. Clearly Andy will play the doubles and gamble on having enough in the tank to play and win the reverse singles. I would far rather have seen Colin picked, as he has now returned to peak form after the break for the birth of his 1st child, and has a very good record playing with Andy at the DC.
Andy has played well with his brother in the past, but the 2012 Olympics is clear in my memory when Jamie froze on the big stage playing with his bro. Having said all that I do respect Leon immensely, so maybe there's more to it than my initial assessment.

I'd imagine it all depends on the first day. If we are 2-0 up then i'd imagine we would see Dom & Jamie. If it is 1-1 then as long as Andy is feeling fine i'd imagine he would partner with Jamie to face the Bryans. I feel that the doubles have been picked based on a player that has experience of playing with Andy but also a pair that Leon feels can play together.
The good news is that Isner is not in great form at the moment(lost to Muller, Querrey and Matosevic early this year) and the US team cannot decide who to pick for no.2
It will be down to James Ward to try and find a singles victory as the Bryans are just coming into form having won Delray Beach.
