To me, Leon is a pragmatist and really the win comes first.

If he thought that Brydan could assist that whatever his body language ( and I've never seen him in action ) then he'd be considered.

I think he is pragmatic to the extent of seeing the whole picture so such as the effect that an alleged bad apple ( or even poor body language ) might have on others or maybe keeping Andy sweet could be considerations for him if they effected immediate and future winning chances.

The real crux of the matter is that Brydan isn't good enough and I wouldn't bet even at Phil's odds that he'll be good enough come Davis Cup time.

Well said. I think there are other, more credible candidates for this match. Brydan Klein needs to show a further quality jump to come into contention.

And, of course, we've no idea whether Brydan would even wish to play Davis Cup, even if selected.

Meantime, in this year's final Switzerland lead France 2-1.

And Federer is an early break up vs Gasquet ( who has come in for Tsonga ).

A really good match with Federer flat out hitting half volley ground strokes.

Federer :

"This one is for the boys.....This is not for me, I have won enough. I am just happy we can give everyone in our country a historic moment".

So humble :)

From the LTA's official twitter account

We've experience unprecedented demand for @DavisCup tickets & have currently sold out. We'll let you know if more seats are made available.

My contempt for these bloody idiots only becomes greater over time. I wouldn't trust them to run a bath.

Those still wanting tickets - the Andy Murray Fan Forum block booking still has tickets for Friday and Saturday (not Sunday) according to the latest posting, today. Get in touch with Sally ASAP if anyone is interested.

Sally posted a link about 20 posts ago.

It boggles the mind. What a farce.

Judging from a couple of tweets flying around, I am assuming this is just the first batch of tickets that have sold out and more will be made available later - although I could be wrong.

Simon Briggs tweeted

LTA put 2000 tickets for each day of Davis Cup tie v USA on sale this morning and they went in 10 minutes - pretty encouraging effort

Given the venue is 7000+, it does suggest that this is just the start of the sales process.

Some will go to sponsors, some to US supporters(which may well get returned). Some went on pre-sale to British tennis members

I expect more tickets to be made available, but not loads.

The issue is and always has been the venue is not big enough to meet the demand.

This match could have sold out a 12K seater venue easily.

I tried at 10 am to get tickets this morning I wanted Friday/Saturday there were None AVAILABLE. Possibly if I had went in separately for the two days I might have got tickets but that would have been remote. Given up total farce the tickets and inflated prices too!

Yes, a bit confusing, but the LTA tweet said "sold out" and they'd let folk know "if" more tickets became available.

I'm afraid that rather suggests that that was the main public sales process, although as paulisi suggests no doubt tickets will be returned from other souces and hopefully become available.

Re the Simon Briggs tweet, again iff that is the final main public sale ( and I'm just remembering that someone had already said that only the Family Stand remained ) then words almost fail me, almost but...

What it wouldn't be ( and given, whatever the precise current position, that the venue is far too small as some folk instantly said here ) is a "pretty encouraging effort". There never was to me much doubt that many folk would want to make the "effort" to see a home World Group Davis Cup tie vs the USA. Pity the LTA couldn't make a proper effort to find a suitable venue.
