Wanted to see how they got on initially the no8 for Andy might be a little ambitious
Sorry, no go.
I think everyone would would like to 'see how they got on initially' beforehand, especially FOUR months of seeing how they got on - you might as well wait till 30 Dec before predicting !
A lot of people would now put Andy lower than they did as of late December/early Jan. I'm Ok with my Andy entry but I'd certainly change a prediciton or five !
Probably half way through season so I have updated the tables.
Josh has taken a commanding lead. He gets points on all his GB predictions and every World prediction apart from Andy Murray (due to the max. 25% from ranking you have to get Andy's rank to within +/- 1 now.)
My first post here, but I have been following the forum and Steven on twitter for a while.
Why did so few people go for Dan S to be in the top 10? Especially with his performance in Champaign at the end of last year......
Nice to meet you Floody.
As someone who DID go for Dan S, you've got to remember that it's always rather easy to be wise after the event.
I went for him because I really liked his tennis when I saw it on the Champaign livestream. But I had the advantage of not having really followed him for the years before when, presumably, his tennis was broadly similar but he never really amounted to much.
And after all, Josh M did well at Champaign too. And many players have had one 'surprisingly good' tournament and we;ve then been disappointed afterwards (Dan Evans and the US Open might be a case in point). Dan Cox has done it the other way - nothing outstanding in the way of challenger breakthroughs but a sudden run of very consistent 10 and 15k results last summer that suddenly saw him leap up.
If you had to go for someone, who do you think will halve their ranking in the next six months ?
Thanks for the welcome. Personally, I would go for Cameron Norrie, who seems to have started a run that could see a big rise in the rankings.
Yourself?
Hi Floody - I do recognise you from Twitter (there's a flood-something there, at least, so I assume that's you) - I'd be inclined to agree with you here except that Cam is due to start college in the US later this summer.

I'm really reluctant to go for someone when I haven't seem them play (preferably live but at least by livestream/TV). I've got certain fixed ideas (for right or wrong) of what I like to see.
So I agree that Cam has had a really impressive run (ignoring the college thing) but I've never seen him play.
Unfortunately (for the pundits), character is then also absolutely key, and that we have far less way of knowing.
So my pick to halve the ranking would be Josh WH, but then that's hardly revolutionary as everyone knows I'm a JWH fan (and his results certainly have been pretty ropey this year so I've still got plenty of room ).
Just 2 weeks to go and to satisfy Coup Droit's curiosity, here are the latest standings. Lots of changes since the US Open and clawing his way to the top is Ratty. Will he still be top dog (or should that be rodent) for the final result?
