For what it's worth, among the current top 100, 19 of the girls and 45 of the boys are 1998s. Good news for our highest-ranked '99 and '00 boys and girls ... especially for the boys. There could potentially be quite a strong contingent going for the AO next year.

On the girls' side, it's noticeable that only 17 people younger than Francesca Jones are ahead of her in the rankings. Only five people her age are ranked above Ms Changwereza, too - though Ms Fischer remains the top-ranked 2003 overall. On the boys' side, Aidan McHugh is the 16th highest-ranked 2000/2001 player - and only 12 people younger than Finn Bass are higher than he is in the rankings.

Among the girls, Holly Fischer is now, as CD noted, the second highest ranked 2003, following victory in a G4 by Noa Krznaric. Francesca Jones is still within the youngest quarter of top 100 players.

Among the boys, Jack Draper is now the youngest in the top 250 - and indeed GB is the only country with two '01s (Anton Matusevich the other) in the top 250. There are 41 '00s in the top 250. They include some very highly ranked players (FAA at 3, Nicola Kuhn at 12, Yshai Oliel at 32, Rudolf Molleker at 35, etc); Aidan McHugh is now the 9th highest ranked.
