Thinking back to last year, wasn't the final on Sunday ? Seems like it will be Saturday this time with every 2R match scheduled for tomorrow.

 It was Saturday - I remember because I had to go out and miss the last set.

Also I was at work during the semi-final so must have been a Friday

Definitely Saturday - I remember having to leave the match halfway through to go on the obligatory Saturday morning visit to my dad's and then relying on Twitter updates thereafter cry

QF: (Q) Johanna Konta WR 141 v (WC) Zhang Shuai (CHN) WR 112 (CH 73 in 2011)

H2H 1-0, 6-4 3-6 7-5, US Open FQR 2012. Zhang also upset a seed today.

Johanna beat Zhang in three last year at the US open.

Just to add to this - JoKo is now on a 14-match winning streak in countries beginning with 'C' biggrin - might she be looking to see what tournaments are on in Croatia and the Czech Republic in the foreseeable future? wink

She is also the 2nd Brit to reach 500 points in the WTA Race this year, this win taking her to exactly 500 if you count only her best 16 from 2013 only (Laura has just over 1000 points)
