RE: Week 15 - ITF $25k - Edgbaston - Hard Indoor

So Naomi, Sam and probably Anne, maybe Tara.

I really wonder what Jade, Emily and Mel do from here to compete against top 500 players. Any ideas anybody? Fitness seems to be the main problem it would appear.

Disappointing result from Emily.

So we will end the day below par, both numerically and in the general sense of that phrase, if one takes par here ( apparently arguably ) as 5/10 GB wins.

I would expect Anne to win, less sure about Tara.

Good to see Tara apparently fit and well and winning again, indeed that looks a good win.

Emily hates the indoors and has been counting down the days and Mel has been ill, other than that the losses are fair enough.

Great win for Tara, I asked her Sunderland what she felt explained her improved form this year, and it would seem more focus on her game during the offseason rather than too much fitness work was the key.

Anne K won 6-3 6-2 so guaranteed a British QF, but expect Tara to join her and Naomi having a 50/50 chance

So four out of ten through - not great but not too bad either after good results from Tara and Anne.

Naomi had 4 bp chances but took none of them. In contrast, her Italian opponent also had 4 bps and took them all. Who knows how they actually played at these crucial moments, but the stats suggest the Italian was better at key moments (though an eye witness may say something completely different to this).

Tara has started to pull away 4-0 up in the 2nd

Anne vs Sam has started, currently 2-1 to Anne (with Special K serving atm).

Sam came from a break down and won the last three games to take that set from Anne.
