In the first of today's delayed second round under 16 matches top seed Harriet Dart easily disposed of the talented 13 year old Maia Lumsden. The only seeds not reaching the quarters were Emily Gibbens and Brigit Folland

The quarter-finals were also played, with two in-form players to contest the first semi. In the bottom half Beth Askew has only dropped a handful of games

 A number of people have asked that question, and I don't have a clear answer. This was my response when Indiana asked last year ( http://britishtennis.activeboard.com/t39806781/2011-team-aegon-players-announced/?page=2 )  On other boards there were one or two theories put forward, like ensuring a Scottish quota, but nothing substantiated.

One of the overlooked 1996s won the title, from 1-5 in the third set, whilst Harriet and Alice combined to win the doubles

Final

(1) Harriet Dart d.  (2) Beth Askew 0-6 6-3 7-5
