I've just read the Code of Conduct which must be signed to be able to participate in the Bonus Payment scheme, and can see why quite a few players wouldn't be eligible.
I fear that in my younger days I may have read it and then kindly told them where to put it. I am surprised more haven't. Free speech for everyone except British Tennis players.
Well I suppose number one is about tennis After that it's about being the LTA and British tennis model citizen. "LTA" appears rather a lot. Then again wasn't there supposedly someone who was looking for a job with the LTA that was told something like believing in everything LTA was more important then any love of tennis.
Many of the individual points don't seem unreasonable, for instance some young British men players did seem to have a dedication / alcohol problem and I feel you should be doing all you can to be physically as fit as you can be. But they do seem to have a real problem with anyone that is just a bit different or is maybe a bit outspoken, which some people naturally are. In fact some are in danger of having personalities, better keep an eye on them !
Looks as if we can look forward to loads of exciting media interviews with British tennis players in the years to come that might provoke more interest in tennis from the casual viewer
Number One, I want the LTA to produce good tennis players before their view of model citizens.

The omission of Tara is astounding. Lisa surprising but not quite so shocking given they've reduced the number of spots.
The one that is totally flummoxing me is Alice Keddie. I presume that she has achieved something in below-ITF junior level that we don't mention on these forums, because I don't recall her name ever being mentioned. A quick check on the ITF site reveals a Grade 5 QF as her best result and a ranking of 1184. Can someone enlighten me?
Yes, I far from understand all that's going in ther juniors such as tennis europe as against itf results, which is why I didn't mention Alice Keddle but I did slightly raise my eyebrows. I raise them more noticing that two other 14 yos who I have noticed getting decent ITF results, Harriet Dart and Grace Dixon, are not on the list.
Maybe someone like DavidC can be more enlightening here

Alice was part of our U14 team for the European Summer Cups and had some decent results in TE14 events (one Grade 1 SF in particular). Nevertheless her standard of performance, or improvement from last year, doesn't appear to me to distinguish her from the 2 players mentioned above
Broadys decline funding to leave LTA hierarchy with red faces
The LTA suffered acute embarrassment yesterday when two of the 32 players chosen to receive significant funding help next year immediately said that they did not want it.
The Broady family, from Stockport, will not accept a penny from the governing body as long as the present regime remains in control.
So the impression that a truce had been called was wrong.
I actually think it was a good move by the LTA to offer the Broadys funding this year, but not to let them know before announcing it, and this from an organisation desperate to avoid bad press?!?!
Or is there more to this than meets the eye, I wonder, or does it have something to do with why there was a delay?

Cannot believe Tara & Katie did not get included, even thought Tara made all the criteria!
Maybe it's because while she was with the NTC she never did too well but after she moved to Gosling her ranking improved in a major way? Maybe they are as jealouse? As for Katie maybe they think its her age?
hey all, been away so not been on much. (in fact just got back from having a quick hit with boggo ,in not so sunny florida right now, needless to say I took it easy on him so as not to knock his confidence before the start of the season )
i believe the situation with jamie murray relates to sponsorship deals.
As far as i know boggo is due a payment from Eckental, but we don't know if he has received it yet.
i read through the T&C's quite some time ago, and i'm sorry i couldn't really say anything here earlier but i have to say they left me a little astounded. i guess the LTA don't want a repeate of what happened after bloomers run at newport as this is effecitivly a gagging order :(

So he has made himself available for Davis Cup then?
Rule 11 of the Code of conduct:
11. Ensure he/she is available to compete in the Davis Cup/Fed Cup (as applicable)
Anyone know what has become of Andrew Bettles who was a decent looking 1993 born prospect?
Last I heard was eary in the year when his coach was complaining that the LTA had unfairly and with no real communication persuaded him to cut off his links with that coach and base himself at the NTC under LTA coaches.

Has he disappeared into a black hole ?
I can only give a part answer. He retired from his last tournament in May then entered a number of ITF Junior events over the summer, withdrawing late in the day. He was also selected for the GBR European Summer Cup under 18 team but again pulled out. That suggests an injury where the optimistic hopes of a quick recovery were not fulfilled, but I don't have any contacts likely to know more.
To be perfectly honest, I would think even more ill of the LTA had Tara's tweets have played any part in the selection process.
If the LTA were to reduce, or in this case scrap, funding from a player who sought (quite rightly in my view) to make a criticism, then balls to them. I'm all for discipline, but the arrogance of that would be astonishing.
That said, I'd be surprised if that was the reason. However I can't see another reason for Tara's omission other than perhaps a personal grudge via the head of women's tennis. (Who is?)
As for Lisa, I can't imagine what she must feel she needs to do to get the funding - ranking- check, age- check, results - check, work ethic - check.
