the site http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Sports-Tennis-Top-Stories/Sania-Mirza-wins-Wrexham-doubles-title/articleshow/6211821.cms allows comments so I've quoted the ITF site saying the Brits have won, they might believe it if they get a few of them!
I didn't see much of either match as I turned up too late thinking the semi finals would be played one after the other, so I asked a guy who had watched all of the match and thats what he told me. Lisa's serve is the weakest aspect of her game in part due to the long term problem she has/will have with her shoulder.
Indeed, that was how it appeared to me at Wimbledon qualies and the shoulder is obviously going to be cause for concern.
Having said that, I felt that when the first serve went in it was placed well enough to make it tricky to return with interest. The main problem, as far as I could see, was reliability rather than power so something that will improve with experience and confidence.
Was very lucky to be there and see Heather win today. Very briefly, it was a great start when she served to love and then broke to love. After that it was more competitive with some great rallies that generally Heather came out on top of. Some of them took my breath away. Her speed, composure and consistency was wonderful. She couldn't quite serve it out at 5-3 partly because Sania really fought back and also perhaps nerves ( I think her only double fault was in that game) but then in the next she broke Sania (after a few deuces I think) to take the title. It may have been on about the 5th match point (but I'm not totally sure on that.
About 50 - 60 watching only - the sun came out as well, which was nice; it was deserving of many more. I honestly feel very fortunate to have seen Heather take her 1st 25K title.

Have a couple of pics which I will post later.

Really wished I'd stayed now. Was Heather just getting everything back, making no errors etc., . She seems to have the ability as well at times to suddenly raise her level, which really gets me excited about her future. All week the only people watching were local members, tournament staff, other players and coaches. It's a shame the event wasn't advertised so that more people got the chance to watch.
Excellent win, which should take Heather to the third highest 1992 girl in the rankings (admittedly not a stellar year) and mean that one win in US Open qualifying will probably be enough for top 200
