They certainly did, the weather has been horrendous here. Should be dry tomorrow fingers crossed. Heather said she prefers outdoors as it enables her to use her variety of shot to the max.I"d pick Heather and Lisa. Lisa may then cause an upset in the semis if Heather doesn't raise her level. Mirza overall though the most impressive so far, but she's not unbeatable.
Well done to Lisa, QF points here ( 14 ) should take her comfortably into the top 300 in the rankings, maybe about 288. That's really good progress and probably beyond most folks' expectations at this time.
Tara too picking up good points whilst making the most of what has worked out a very kindly draw.
With their QF meeting, Lisa can move further up the top 300 or Tara can move back within the top 500.
Interesting matches to come in the bottom half. I'd take Heather to come through as finalist.
Anyway, hope it much drier tomorrow, for the players and Phil

Yes, that's about right I think - so that's another hastily-raised target ticked off and she has no points due to come off until the end of the USO.
Heather and Naomi are on the edge of new career highs and the winner of their match tomorrow will definitely get one, while a win for Tara tomorrow would take her to the edge of a new CH, but she'd have to get to the Final to make sure of it.
Heather - old CH 249, now likely to be c. WR 252 or c. WR 244 (new CH) if she wins tomorrow Naomi B - old CH 267, now likely to be c. WR 268 or c. WR 260 (new CH) if she wins tomorrow Lisa Wh. - old CH 318, now likely to be c. WR 288 (new CH) or c. WR 279 if she wins tomorrow Tara Mo. - old CH 482, now likely to be c. WR 533 or c. WR 488 if she wins tomorrow
The USO qualifying cut-off last year was 223 initially, ending up at 234.

Doubles round-up - Mirza faring better this week in tandem with Laine than she did last week with Laura:
QF: (1) Sania Mirza & Emma Laine (IND/FIN) WR 276 defeated Daneika Borthwick & Liz Thomas UNR by 1 & 1 QF: (4) Isabella Holland & Daniela Scivetti (AUS/AUS) WR 955 lost to Nicola George & Lisa WhybournWR 1684 by 3 & 4 QF: Tara Moore & Francesca Stephenson UNR defeated (3) Tammi Patterson & Olivia Rogowska (AUS/AUS) WR 785 by 5 & 3 QF: Anna Fitzpatrick & Jade Windley WR 1004 defeated (2) Jos Rae & Emelyn Starr (AUS) WR 525 by 4 & 5
SF: (1) Sania Mirza & Emma Laine (IND/FIN) WR 276 vs Nicola George & Lisa WhybournWR 1684 SF: Tara Moore & Francesca Stephenson UNR vs Anna Fitzpatrick & Jade Windley WR 1004
At least one guaranteed Brit pair in the final... Wouldn't it be good to have both? Pretty ?
* What's with all the Aussie girls over here at the moment?
Heather won 6-2 6-3 ( Heather stepped it up a level and was impressive today ) Lisa won 7-6(3) 1-6 6-4 ( Tara probably should have won being 4-1 up in the first and 3-1 in the third but in a high quality match and spurred on by a partisan home crowd Lisa stayed the tougher mentally winning the bigger points) Mirza won very easily and Laine won as well.
