Tara Moore

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the delay was due to Tara's team requesting extra time

"a lengthy delay ensued between Moores provisional suspension, which began on May 27, 2022, and the tribunal on 14-15 December, 2023. Much of this, it is understood, was at the request of the defendants, who asked for extra time to prepare their defences."

I'm not going to lie, I thought she was pretty stupid to eat meat in S America and I don't see why the LTA would fund her defence. That would be a terrible look. I'm sure they will find some way of helping her now she's been cleared.

Havng read her Twitter (or X) - doesn't seem to be a happy bunny.

Whatever, like Sam, she will shoot up the rankings, - will be interesting (even more) for next years GBR doubles smile

The LTA and AELTC should just throw every possible wildcard at her that they can. She was British No.1 doubles player before this debacle had just reached her first WTA final. She was on the up. She has been totally exonerated not like when Hingis and Sharapova were banned, they simply sat out their bans.

Interesting - does this happen often? Also how awful for Tara.

Yes. Seemingly they haven't challenged the finding for the other player who was done for the same thing

Tara was charged with having Boldenone and nandrolone in her sample, Gatica was only charged with having Boldenone in her sample. As I read the report only the nandrolone ruling is being appealed which Gatica didn't get charged with.

Interesting - I wonder what their argument is?

To appeal do they not need new or additional evidence to have a case?

A disgrace. Can she still play again or have to wait until the appeal verdict?

Why is it a disgrace, because she is British?  Granted, it's dragged on too long but other than that Tara failed a drug test regardless of what she claims are the circumstances.  Clearly the ITIA feel that she still has a case to answer because of the nature of the drugs in her system.

Quite frankly, I think you have to be incredibly stupid to eat meat in S. America if you're a competing sports person. It's hardly an unknown problem and too many are using it as a get out.

Because she's already proved her innocence and should be allowed to get on with her life instead of being hounded by jobsworths who stole 18 months of her career and can't accept they were wrong.
