John says George Morgan lost 6-2 7-5 and Coupland lost in straight sets, but he doesn't know the score. He didn't see Eaton v Bamford. I told hm he doesn't need to phone any more as we have the live scores, and we'll know who won when either Bamford or Eaton come out for the 2nd round.
Good efforts from Coupland, Morgan and Smethurst, but a step too far for them, but Cox showed what is possible with his win though.
Guess Eaton/Bamford finished in straight sets judging by the fact a 2nd round match is on that court, but I guess we'll have to wait a while to find out who won the match and what the score was.
Evans has started well and looks to be doing a lot better than he played at Queens.
And a poor result for Bloomers so far as this loss is just unexplainable, given that Gregorc doesn't have any real weapons to beat him, unless Bloomers just isn't serving well. (and it's this kind of inconsistent performance which is why he's ranked outside the top 400 and hasn't done enough for a wimbledon WC)
