Well done to Alex and making him do qualies worked out so well. See... now he must be feeling a lot more confident since he's there by right, and if he lost in qualies, he wouldn't have won a main draw match anyway. And the 5 points can only help his cause to get back to the top 150 by the year end.

Shame about Chris but he now gets to play Wimbly qualies. And Spadea is far better than many top 100 players on grass, so it was actually quite good a scoreline

Extremely impressed by Dan here. 8 games off a person who has won a Tour title this year plus took Nadal to three sets a few days ago is brilliant - I would have been happy with anything not less than 4! From the stats, Nishikori was serving too neatly and Dan's own wasn't good enough to get him into a tiebreak. The only drawback was that he rarely got even to 30 on his opponent's serve, but if he can sort it out and keep up this level of tennis, he's going to move up the rankings in no time at all.

Obviously he is top 100 & would have posted good wins but I was surprised at the quantity of good wins, Coupland did very well in having the oppotunity to serve for the 2nd set & at the time you dont realise how well he is doing/done to push Kunitsyn that far & I know Coupland can play better, as does George himself.
Boggo beating him in 2 is a fantastic win & I really hope he can push on & break the top 100 & be playing this level of player on a weekly basis, thats where he should be.
For Coupland I hope he can push on with the confidence gained from this match & go deep in some draws on the grass at some futures over the next 5-6 weeks.
