RE: Wimbledon 2008 Inter-Board Pick 'Em Competition

Oh no, I've just realised Llubo got knocked out, picking three Croatians to reach the quarter-finals was a big, big mistake.

Given your recent humiliation against a 12-year-old, it's probably safer to call yourself a fan smile

you can be whichever you prefer Count. That bits all for fun anyway so it really doesn't matter much...though we might get supiscious if you try to pass yourself off as a professional wink.gif

Nole 2 sets down to Safin - I bet most people haven't got Safin for the win

Ferrero Rocher down a set and a break to Zereyev - good , limits my losses if the rusky wins, and serves Rocher right for mucking up my selections

91% had Nole for the SFs (and I have him losing to Fed there), so it's fine. He's now a break down, too.

I had Zverev beating Querrey in the second round and only 4% of people had that, so it'll be great if he wins. Will offset some of the damage that I'm sure to suffer, owing to the fact that I've got Kev Anderson till the round of 16.

You're probably right Count but I see no reason why there should be. It's Djokovic's job, he should be able to cope with a full years worth of tournaments, it's what he's paid to do. And as has been mentioned elsewhere on here recently, only 13 (18 if you want for your ranking) tournaments a year are truly necessary, the rest are point chasing (and appearance fees...??).

Anyways, you're all in luck, I've got an unexpected couple of hours at home so I've just done an update and I'll do a second (and final - until one of us gets home late this evening) one in about an hour, including the all picks sheet then.

9 people went for Safin in what could now be described as an inspired manner! But it shouldn't hurt the rest of us too much given he was such a favourite. Anyone having Nole beating Fed in the semis needs to cheer Fed's opponents and get him out asap to minimise the damage later.

Thanks to Zverev, I go up to 21. clap.gif

Early days and I can easily finish outside the top 250 with my gambles, but still, this feels great.

I was sitting there tearing my hair out , rooting for Gonzo. The when I looked at my selection printout, I found I had Bolelli to win ( rather strange since only about 2% have him).

I'm going to have to watch a replay, so I can properly enjoy my prediction coming in ....

I'm keeping it real with John in 382nd place!

It's embarrassing when you have to use CTRL F to find yourself!

I cannot believe that a trio of numpty players have spoiled my chances of getting anywhere near the top 200. Djokovic, Nalbandian and Karlovic... My only real chance is Wawrinka in that section!!!!

ABOOOOO!
