Can we not have some sort of rule on this board about posting in English? What the **** is that you've just posted? No excuse for it. It's not cool or clever and surely it's not that much quicker to post, it's just retarded.

lewis barnes and james richardson seem to have created some interest on this thread.. ive done back ground checks and they seem very decent players give or take 1 or 2 results!

i would also like to know other peoples opinion on the boys and if anyone knows where they train and theire plans? and on the poor state of girls tennis, we seem to have very few good girl juniors the only good ones seem to be coming from the lower years.. like laura robson and the rens.. they are the only junior i ever hear of.. the rest just dont pick up results of havent got the resources to travel like many of our top boys are doing...
could someone shed some light on this somewhat bleak situation
thanks

i am new to this site.. but find it very interesting on thoughts that people have over junior tennis.
i play myself not to the standard of our juniors just at a club level but like to keep a tab on how our juniors are doing and who are the rising stars of the future...

i have to say i agree with karim on this one our girl juniors compared to our boy junior are in completely different leagues..!!

Maybe because girls choose to concentrate on the senior game, like Fitzpatrick, Cavaday and Broady did.

Laura Robson in the top 150 at 14 years of age is not bad for a girl junior!

yes and what i am saying is that that is one junior compared to boys who have about 15 boys inside the top 150.. all credit to laura she is a very good player ive seen her play but she is one prospect for the future compared to the boys

The women's game is very different from the men's. For men you are not really expected to start hitting your best tennis until you are 21-22, but, in the women's game, if you haven't started to make a mark by the time you are sixteen you probably aren't going to. Of course there are exceptions to these rules.

The best juniors in the women's game are not necessarily those highest in the junior rankings. They know that they have to be competitive at senior level so play senior events more often. I'm sure if Jade Curtis were to concentrate 100% on juniors she would be ranked very highly.

If you look at players who are just starting on the senior ladder then I would argue that our women are in better shape than our men (OK...I'm rather assuming the non-existence of Andy Murray which is a slightly odd thing to do). Cavaday, Fitzpatrick, Curtis, Tara Moore etc look to me to be more likely to peak higher than Rice, Dyce, Milton, Cox, Evo etc, but perhaps this is more because the quality goes deeper into the men's ranking than the women's so decent players will struggle harder to reach the peak of the men's game.

All of this is in my opinion, of course, and I have absolutely no evidence to back any of this up - just gut feel :)

i have seen akhazzan play and i must say his ranking is way above his level,at a young age he has always been no where near to the top dogs but however he has stayed persistant but in my opinion he will not come good on the long run!!he is always in higher levels of the ITF circuit maybe he should tae it down a few grades where he might win some matches!!
