Sorry, Steven I forgot that method, as you say it'd be much better!
Are you (and David) going to be able to do all the running? There's probably no point me even getting the master sheet as I'm away from 23rd to 30th, but I'll be back in time for the next comp

That's probably right, but the problem is I'm away from the Friday morning (23rd) until the Monday morning (26th) too, so I'll need someone to look after the scoring for at least that period, and preferably the 21st & 22nd too so that they can get used to it and have time to ask any questions before I go away.
The obvious candidate is Rob - who, by the way, pm'd me with a suggestion that should prevent people (well, David ) from doing their picks the wrong way and messing up the scoring - but I don't want to pile even more work onto his already overloaded plate! Having said that, as you (Bethan) can probably confirm, once the sheets are set up at the start, keeping them up to date doesn't take much time at all, especially if you're reasonably comfortable using Excel.
The good thing is that the Miami main draw starts on Wednesday (IW started on Friday) so whoever does take over, we'll have the whole of R1 (Wed & Thu) to sort out the inevitable problems that are going to come up with the vastly expanded Excel file(s) that's going to be needed to cope with 50+ entrants and with any problems getting it to the web.

Anyone thinking of volunteering, it's really not much time, simply getting the results and putting them into one sheet the results are then all done automatically and it's simply a case of posting the table. Took me roughly 2mins this morning. (admittedly it takes slightly longer when there are more matches to put in but still not very long)

Provisional timetable for Miami pick 'em entries (based on last year)
Monday 14.00 GMT - qualifying starts Monday 18.00 GMT - main draw Monday Late GMT - entry sheet download available (try downloading it, pm me if you can't) Wednesday early hours GMT - qualifiers placed in the draw Wednesday morning (*) - entry sheet with qualifiers placed in the draw download available Wednesday 14.00 GMT - entry deadline, R1 starts
(*) electricity will be off from about 8 am here and after it comes back, I have a meeting - I will add the qualifiers to the entry sheet around midnight on Tuesday if the draw is known by then, otherwise it may not be until 2-3 hours before the deadline, so people might have to make do with checking against the draw on the Miami site if they want to know who each qualifier in the main draw is.
It's just a bit unfortunate that Miami have picked a 'bad' day to finish qualifying and that the time zones work this way - it was less hassle with IW because play didn't start until the evening our time.

Just a quick reminder that if we're going to run this competition, we're going to need someone to collect the entries and do the results, particularly while Bethan and I are both away, i.e. Friday to Monday 23-26 March, though it would be best if the person was involved from the start, i.e. from when entries start to come in on Tuesday/Wednesday.
It's not a tough job (it's even quite fun!) - it needs to be someone who has access to update files on britishtennis.net (or whom David would be willing to give that access to), has a reasonably up to date version of Excel and has at least basic spreadsheet skills - though there's no need to set up formulae or anything like that.
If you;re interested, just pm me - feel free to ask questions before you commit yourself.
