Not the way we wanted it to happen, I know (to put it mildly!), but thanks to Rob Harris (up from 25th to 4th) picking Djokovic to reach the Final ...

BritishTennis.net lead AndyMurray.com by 3203-3176 after 93 matches.

Detailed results update http://www.britishtennis.net/2007mi.htm

I've added a column to the table that shows how many picks each player got right without weighting them heavier in the later rounds.

The only person who can still score points is Donna (AM), who picked Ljubo to reach the Final. If he beats Canas tonight, the AMs will win by 5 points (less than 0.1%), if Canas wins the scores will stay as they are now.

cazza (AM) has definitely won the individual. Douglas M and Guy could still finish 2nd and 3rd, but Donna will push them both down a place if Ljubo beats Canas.

So, here's something I never, ever thought I'd hear myself say ...

GO CANAS GO!!!

That's incredibly close - what a great competition. This morning I didn't want Canas to win but now it seems like a perfect solution to cheer me up. Feeling very flat after THAT match - goodness knows what Andy feels like. The number of picks per player is interesting - you've beaten me on that one but I'm still pretty pleased with my overall performance.

Canas (aka BritishTennis.net) is serving for the 1st set ... but Ljubicic (aka AndyMurray.com) has 15-30 on Canas' serve.

BritishCanas.net have 3 match points ... this could bring a whole new meaning to the phrase 'winning ugly'! wink

BritishTennis.net beat AndyMurray.com by 3203-3176 after 95 matches.

Crazy isn't it - early on, it looked like AM.com had no chance, then a round or two ago it looked like we had no chance, then it turned out we had a tiny chance, but needed three matches to go our way, one of which none of us wanted to go our way.

In the end, we won it by the equivalent of about one R1 pick per player - which one of your R1 picks was the one that turned it? Complete madness!

Detailed results: http://www.britishtennis.net/2007mi.htm

Top 10 individuals:

POS. PLAYER    TEAM   TODAY    TOTAL    %
     1cazza99    AM      0   18043.3%
     2Douglas M    BT      0   16940.6%
     3Guy    BT      0   16138.7%
     4Rob Harris    BT     32   15938.2%
     5Seagull    BT      0   15838.0%
     6lj2007    AM      0   15336.8%
     7SarahWiser    AM      0   14835.6%
     8Johnnylad    BT      0   14434.6%
     8goldfish    BT      0   14434.6%
   10Donna    AM      0   14133.9%

Rob Harris (BT) was the only player from either team who got a finalist right, with Djokovic. The hairy gorillas came bottom again, with totally random picks producing about half the average team score. Roberta the Robot finished just outside the top half, further evidence of just how full of upsets this tournament was!

Very well done everyone, see you in Monte Carlo in just over 2 weeks! biggrin

Yeah Thanks steven and Josh and Count (and Sheddie although did he actually do anything in the end? )

the competition was very smoothly run and I look forward to doing it all again soon, perhaps I can improve my abysmal record in the latter half of tournaments! (I seem to do OK with the first couple of rounds and then it all goes rapidly downhill.)

I'll be around and about for Monte Carlo so am happy to take over the reigns again

P.S. Go BT.net! Bravo to AM.com i'm glad it was so close right up to the end, makes for a much more interesting time.
