Looks like Sheddie was the only one of us not to pick Duckboy to win tonight - he drops from 6th to 10th. The top 9 are still within 8 points (1 R4 win) of the leader.

Sheddie's old mate 'bash seemed to be getting taken apart by Tommy Haas, whom you can usually rely on to do that sort of thing to such upstarts, with ruthless German efficiency. However, 'bash has mounted a bit of a comback from 6-0 5-1 down ... he's broken once, held and now has 2 bps for 5-4!

Hmm, the scoreboard's now gone back to 5-3 0-0 ... not as bad as during the Duck-Titch t/b when it went 6-5 2-2 4-4 3-3 5-4 match ...

Oops, 15-40 0-0 Ad Haas ... oh, now it's 15-40 again ... make your mind up! Ad Haas ... match! Oops, now it's deuce again. Another scoreboard glitch or a disputed cal? I guess we'll never know! Ad Haas. Take your bets - I'm going for 15-30 next.  Doh! Match Haas. Seems to be permanent this time ... does the Masters Series TV scoreboard agree? Ah 5-0 1st set, Soderling that then!

Nothing worse than when a match goes your way after a bad session and then you realise everyone got it right!

Congrats to Drew, I know he's not top of the table (yet), but 9 from 12 so far tonight (especially when one of the 12 was the match we all expected Fed to be playing in) is amazing!

James Blake has pushed the self-destruct button against Benneteau, who leads 6-2 *4-3 - 15 of us had the player on Blake's side of the draw winning (and I think it was him in all 15 cases - I think the 4 probably went for Monfils to beat Benneteau and Blake) and some us us (gulp!) had him going a lot further.

Davydonkey is a set and a break up against Hernych - only 13 of us went for the Undertaker in this match - I imagine the other 6 all thought it would be Tigger beating him though.

Just to complete today's "diary of a pick 'em entrant" ... James Blake did lose to Benneteau, in straights. Nobody got any points for that, but Nole must be rubbing his hands in glee as his route to the semis opens up, as must those clever people who picked him to beat Blake in R4 - the rest of us are likely to lose ground there unless Benneteau wins again.

Davydenko beat Hernych easily, so the 6 people who picked Tigger to get to that match and win it to set up another clash with Andy have lost out. It has resulted in a 4-point gap opening up between the top 3 and the rest as John and Annie lose ground and drop below today's top performer Drew and Rob.

Acasuso-Ferrero's on now, but we all had Youzhny or Seba to win that, I think (don't believe any of this 100% until Bethan posts the true results!), so there won't be any swing there. Rafa-Verdasco hasn't started yet, but 18 of us went for Rafa there, so last-placed Arka stands to gain on all of us if Rafa loses.

Nadal, Roddick and Nalbandian can all add points for me today, so this could be another good day for me

Hoping against hope that Ljubo can do a big Dave on big Dave! -  2-6 6-4 *0-0 from the Croat's point of view at the moment.

Btw, did anyone notice Shriekapova doing a set-and-a-half long choke that would even put Boggo to shame?

I was going to cut the 'blog' today, but found myself punching the air when I noticed that Ljubo had completed the big Dave on big Dave.

7 of us got it right, and four of us (Drew on 102, Rob on 101 and John & me on 100) have overtaken seagull (99) and FD & Alex at the top, sheddie joining the last two on 99.

The top 8 are now separated by 4 points, i.e. half a match in this round!

Arka, now with 38.1% of the total possible points, is the first player to drop below 40%, but before anyone says "wouldn't the average panda pawing his picks at random have done better than that?" ... the expected score from completely random picks at this stage is less than 34%, so he can still claim to be a relatively intelligent panda!

- Steven, rather than look at completely random picks, what if the Panda had just picked the higher ranked player for each match?

Don't care about Nadal & Ferreiro, as they're both already out by my predictions. ditto Chela and Russell. The big one for me today is A-Rod vs Gasquet: Come on the Duck boy!!
