Remember that King Kong's score is the average score of 1 million hairy gorillas who all pick at random. About 1 in 2 of those gorillas would have randomly picked Rafa to win his R2 match, about half of those would have picked him to win his R3 match too and so on, so about 16000 of the gorillas would have picked Rafa to win the Final. Similarly, about 16000 would have picked Djokovic to win the Final.
Whoever actually wins, then, 16000 of the hairy gorillas will score 64 points for the Final, the rest will score nothing. So, the average score is (16000 x 64 + 984000 x 0) / 1000000, which is approximately 1.
