Our Swingball Pro [serious stuff!] finally went to plastic toy heaven in the sky yesterday due to excessive use over the last few years, peaking over the last 2-3 weeks. 2 warnings to everyone. 1. My smallest kid has just been bought a Head Youtek Speed Graphene (Novak Djokovic), and this resulted in t...

I was looking to see where these guys played before Wimbledon, but couldn't find them. Can anyone shed light on this - and Ferrer?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/tennis/20773530 No wonder the comments are so bad. What would our top players, not funded at all, make of this?

My copy of the above arrived from Amazon when I got home last night, and I have read the appendix chapters on doping and the LTA. I'll not give too much away as I suspect that many forum members will want to read it themselves in the coming weeks. Suffice it to say, Neil is both insufferable (name-dropping...

I am looking for strings that are both durable and give controll with a bit of power. i play 2-3 times a wee...

I have posted in a couple of other threads about some of my experiences in Madrid, but there is one more I wanted to share. It doesn't relate to any GB players so I thought here was the most appropriate place. Much as I enjoyed being on the centre court with Nole, Muzza, Rafa et al, I also enjoyed wandering...

Plans for major changes at the AELTC have been announced. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1WZLVrhm8k Unsurprisingly court 1 will get a roof, hopefully by 2019. Plans also in place for 3 new courts to the north of court 1. This will allow court 19 to be removed and 2 courts from 4-11 to also be remove...

I know this is a topic which is probably less relevant than 10-15 years ago, as court speeds have generally declined and the balls have changed enough to negate the impact of the very very fast servers of yesteryear. The game appears more balanced than it perhaps was a few years back. However, a quick lo...

So Rafa has been back playing for a week and a half, and whilst most tennis fans seem delighted that he's back (he WAS missed), I sense a few reservations and rumblings in the distant background...... That aside, what I've been staggered about is how strident and opinionated he's become about everyth...

This interview on the BBC website this morning. I find many of the comments and quotes rather extraordinary - vague, misleading, disingenuous - in fact much of it reminds me of the leader of the London Olympics "Deliverance" Committee on the brilliant comedy 2012 - "so that's all go...

Similar to the one that cropped up on 'Millionaire' but subly different. Certainly created some discussion at a pub quiz I was at. "Excluding retirements, penalty points, time penalties etc. , what is the fewest possible number of times a player can hit the ball during a set of tennis and win...

Does anyone have any feedback / suggestions on what to change from the 2012 format before I copy the worksheets and open entires? Apologies if this is covered elsewhere but I'm speechless at the US Open's attempt to sort their scheduling. The mens's final on a Monday, really, that seems a good idea does it ? how likely is it that rafa will be back after more knee problems, i know he will come back at some time but at what level can his knees sustain that kind of punishment espiecly the hard court season.

The BBC have announced they are cutting back the red button video to a single stream on all platforms from this week, so that probably means even less chance of seeing your favourite players at Wimbledon. Must have blown their budget on the Olympics.

Tonight seems an appropriate time to mention Tony Hawks' movie "Playing the Moldovan's at Tennis", in which he attempts to beat every member of the Moldovan football team from the last time they played England, as the result of a drunken bet. The bet became a book and then a film, both of whi...
