Jack looks arrogant - getting the crowd to up their cheering after the match had finished - but I suppose he has much to be arrogant about!

I'd rather have a player with too much edge than too little, especially if they don't cross any lines and it gets them the win

I wouldn't  hold that against  him. He must gave been completely pumped. And rightly so. It wasn't unsporting  or anything coz the match had finished. And, anyway, I never really judge kids' behaviour until they are at least 21 ....

Well done, jack. And Anton too. Super run by both, and still going...,

Very good from Anton and Jack   biggrin

Hopefully they can continue strongly here and begin to make some inroads in seniors in the next year such that they might be awarded less contentious Wimbledon Q WCs next year.

Great to see both through to the QF. Nothing to e too worried about in the QF either.

Can we start talking about a possible all british final?

Matusevich beat Mu fairly recently 6-2 6-1 as well as Jack beating Musetti (curtesy of DavidC above). Lets hope for repeat performances for both.

This is a very good reason to expose them to top level senior Tennis early, the advantages of the QWC they received this year are multiple. Although being able to compete is important so is putting their performance in junior tournaments in context. Particularly knowing from experience that further improvement is an absolute to make any junior success relevant. Very pleased for both, definitely performances they can build on.

Yes, they should both have been playing senior tennis early, and haven't.

I'm thrilled for them in juniors too. And, as Indy says, hope they can unqualifiedly deserve their Q wildcards next year.
I still feel l very much that they were wrong to be singled out this year - I have also heard some very bitter resentment from the parents of other players and this is also something the LTA should have considered - a small help for two players, based on no matrix or merits that anyone can deduce, can create long-lasting bad effects in the cohort in general.
This, however, is criticism of the LTA uniquely and nothing to do with the two boys, of course, whom I wish every success and love watching.

There are very good reasons to expose them to senior tennis early - not just pitch them into top level senior tennis - Slam qualifying no less with all that comes with that. So much benefit to them from low level senior tennis against such a variety of ages and styles and interesting to see how they get on.

OK, our players are always going to be against it against it in Wimbledon qualifying against much higher ranked/more experienced players at this level. But c'mon at least have a bit more experience and some relative success than they and Holly had before competing with top 200 players with no serious chance whatsoever of qualifying.

why is it always announced as 11 the day before when every day's play has started at 11.30?
